Alicia Linda Goranson, a.k.a. Lecy Goranson, was born on 22 June 1974 in Evanson, Illinois. She is 47 as of 2021. Her father, Stephen Goranson, was an employee at the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and her mother, Linda Goranson, was a high school English teacher. She has one older brother named Adam Scott Goranson.
Goranson, during her teens, took an improvisational theater class in Chicago and subsequently secured the role of Becky Conner on the ABC comedy-drama sitcom Roseanne in 1988.
After portraying the role of Becky Connor for four seasons, she attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, in 1992 and majored in English with a concentration in poetry. While attending Vassar College, Goranson managed to appear occasionally on the fifth season of the sitcom. However, when she could not appear on the show due to her prohibitive school schedule, actress Sarah Chalke was brought into the series to replace her. Chalke played Becky Conner in season 6 and season 7.
