Wilson was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on 4 September 1969. She was adopted by her parents and was raised in the suburban area of Boston.
She went to Syracuse University for a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts Musical Theater. However, she later pursued an acting career before graduating college.
Early Career
Wilson received dance training as a child. She was recruited by the Boston Ballet, where she performed professionally for four years.
After leaving the Boston Ballet, she enrolled at Syracuse University. Then, during her junior year, she took part in an agency's national tour of the musical West Side Story. Her participation sparked her interest in acting, and she left college to pursue acting.
Career in Acting
In the beginning, Wilson appeared as a minor character on shows, followed by appearances on commercials. Then in 1995, she landed the role of Robin Givens in the film Tyson.
The following year, Wilson appeared in five projects. First, she played the role of Nicole More in the series Matt Waters, then the role of Traci in the Adam Sandler starring movie Bulletproof. She also featured in Educating Matt Waters, Get on the Bus, and Girl 6. Then in 1997, she appeared as Corrine on the show The Big Easy.
Following that, in 1999, she played her career-defining the role of Lisa Dolittle in the movie Doctor Dolittle. She revived the same part in the 2001 movie Dr. Dolittle 2 as well.
