Kathy Park is a Korean-American journalist who grew up in the suburbs of Silver Spring, Maryland. She is a citizen of the Washington, DC metro area. 

Park's parents are originally from Seoul, South Korea. She also has a brother, William, who is a doctor. However, her date of birth is still unknown.

Park earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and psychology from the University of Maryland. She was also the reporter for the school's award-winning Capital News Service as an undergrad.

She also worked as a Meredith-Cronkite fellow at the CBS affiliate in Phoenix, which was one of her first opportunities in a local newsroom. Park has also worked as an intern at MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews and the DIY Network.

Park then worked as an anchor and reporter for ABC7/NewsChannel 8, beginning in July 2008. She covered many high-profile events at WJLA/NewsChannel 8 for six years, including the Navy Yard shooting, both of President Barack Obama's inaugurations, and the 2010 blizzard, which earned her an 'Emmy' nomination. 

After working there for over six years, Park left ABC7/NewsChannel 8 in July 2014. Then, she served for Hearst Television/ KCRA 3 in Sacramento as a general assignment reporter and weekend evening anchor for four years, from July 2014 to July 2018. 

During her time there, Park covered everything from wildfires to riots in response to the shooting of Stephon Clark and the 2018 California Primary Election. Then, in August of the same year, she landed her big break in NBC News as a news correspondent. Since then, she has been working there.

Besides, Park is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association and frequently volunteers.

Park joined NBC News as a news correspondent in August 2018 after leaving her previous job as a general assignment reporter and weekend evening anchor at Hearst Television/ KCRA 3 in July 2018. According to her Instagram bio, she currently works for The Today Show, MSNBC, and NBC Nightly News.

Husband

Park got married to her husband Brent on 6 September 2021, after being engaged for two years. The couple got married at Marble gate Farm in Tennessee. They had been together since 2015 for six years before finally getting married.

On 11 August 2021, a few weeks before they got married, Park shared a photo with her husband on Instagram and wrote, "6 years together—2 years engaged—weeks away from walking down the aisle."

Park also shared their wedding photos on Instagram on 7 September 2021. She captioned, "Day one as a married couple and our hearts are still overflowing with joy."
