Karina Nova is a news anchor and producer currently associated with San Francisco-based TV Network ABC 7 News.

Who is Karina Nova?

Karina Nova is a renowned TV journalist, TV producer, anchor, and traffic reporter. She has kept her birthdate and age undisclosed in public. However, as per her employee profile on ABC 7 News, she took birth in Baku, Azerbaijan, and later relocated with her parents to Northeast Ohio, USA.

Nova discovered her passion for journalism from a very young age. She loved listening to people’s stories, sharing news, and learning about world events. Thus, to pursue a career as a reporter, Nova joined Kent State University in Ohio in 2002. From there, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Journalism in 2006.

Nova officially began her journalism career while she was still a university student. She worked at Public Broadcasting Service in Ohio as their anchor and reporter from 2003 to 2006. Later after graduation, she joined WBNS 10TV, also known as Channel 10, in June 2006 and served there for around 16 years.

Initially, she joined WBNS in the position of a general assignment reporter. Later, she became the channel’s weekend morning anchor. During her tenure at WBNS, she covered several important breaking news and traffic reports. Moreover, in 2012, she won the prestigious Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Award for her coverage of a massive train derailment.

Besides, Nova has also volunteered to work for different non-profit organizations in Columbus, Ohio. She was a Columbus Fashion Council's board member and worked as a mentor in Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Did Karina Nova Leave Channel 10?

After more than one and a half-decade at WBNS 10TV, Ohio, Nova left the channel in January 2022 to begin a new chapter in her reporting/anchoring career. She announced her departure via an Instagram post on 7 January 2022. She wrote a long status in which she recalled her early reporting days at WBNS and how Ohio has become her home. Her post read,

“To my 10tv family, yes all of you, our viewers, have become a family to me. I feel a lot of emotion making this announcement…after almost 16 years at 10TV, I’m moving to San Francisco to continue my career. And while I’ll be on the west coast, doing what I love- going on adventures, exploring new places, meeting new people, and telling impactful stories…Columbus is what I call home and will always call home no matter where I live.”

Nova last appeared on 10TV on 24 January 2022. She then relocated to San Francisco and immediately joined ABC 7 News as their full-time anchor and producer.

Is She Married?

Nova, a longtime TV journalist, maintains a secretive personal life away from the media and limelight. She is yet to disclose whether she is married or not. However, she also does not seem to be entirely single, as she recently shared a picture of her longtime partner on her Instagram handle @karinanovaabc7.

On 21 November 2021, Nova uploaded two pictures of herself with a man. The first one was from 25 years ago, and the latter is from a recent time. Alongside the photos, she wrote a long status which suggests she has been with the man for over 25 years now and is finally engaged with him. As per her Instagram post, the pair first met in 1996 during a summer camp and have since been together. She wrote,

“25 years in the making…I couldn’t have been more excited to say yes to the best person I know on the planet and the one who waited all these years for me from the day we met at summer camp in 1996. To 25+ more years of living an amazing and adventurous life with my true best friend!”
