Kamilla Kowal is a Canadian actress known for her role as Bonnie McMurray on ‘Letterkenny.’

Who is Kamilla Kowal?

Kowal initially entered into theater acting at a young age to come out of her introverted shell. Then as she grew up, she enjoyed acting and chose to pursue it as a career.

Kowal landed her first role on one of the episodes of Web of Lies in 2016. That year, she also appeared as the recurring character, Bonnie McMurray, in the sitcom Letterkenny, and later it became her breakthrough project.

In the series, McMurray is a charming and endearing girl who works at the town bar. Till the year 2020, the series released nine seasons with 61 episodes, but the development of two more seasons was halted in the production phase because of the Covid pandemic. In 2021, Kowal took part in the making of the upcoming parts of the show.

Previously, she had minor roles in movies such as The New Romantic in 2018 and American Hangman, Winter Love Story, and Secrets in a Small Town in 2019.­

Early Bio & Birthday

Kamilla Kowal was born on 17 July 1997 in Ontario, Canada. She was a timid child who had to be carried by her mother whenever they went outside, even after the age of nine. However, she was noisy and uncontrollable in the comforts of her house. So to make her more outgoing, her mother signed her up for theater classes. And eventually, as a pre-teenager, she grew up to be more confident and extroverted.

By then, acting classes and rehearsals were already a part of her everyday life, and she eventually found out that she enjoyed the theater. Hence, she decided to make a profession out of it and gradually acted in movies and TV shows.

Early Career

After graduating high school in 2016, Kowal made her television debut on the tv-series Web of Lies. The show was about true crime-based stories dwelling on the horrors of the internet rampant in the modern world.

Kowal, is one of the 2016’s episodes, played the role of a girl who goes to meet a guy she met online but does not come back, and her best friend goes on a quest to find about her disappearance. 

The same year, Kowal landed one of the leading roles on the tv-show Letterkenny, which became the staple project of her career.

‘Letterkenny’

This show was created by the infamous actor and writer Jared Keeso with Jacob Tierney, who is also a writer and actor. The plot is based on an imaginary, scarcely populated, rural town in Ontario where people are categorized into farmers, drug users, and natives. The series chronicles the townpeople’s daily drama with fast-paced ‘punny’ humor and rural realities.  

In the Candian television sitcom, Kowal plays the character of Bonnie McMurray, who works as a server at the MoD3an’s Bar. Everyone in town admires Bonnie for her ability to understand people, as well as her capacity to bring the best out of guys. In addition, she is an appealing town personality who enjoys going about and talking to everyone. 

Season 10 and Season 11

The first season was released in 2016, and by 2020, the show was renewed for nine seasons with 61 episodes. Unfortunately, the production of the tenth and eleven seasons were halted due to the pandemic.

On 10 June 2021, actor Michelle Mylett—who plays Katy in the series—revealed that the show was renewing for two new seasons, Season 10 and Season 11. Soon after, Mylett again revealed that the crew had filmed “14 new episodes” on the social media platform. 

With the events unfolding, CinemaBlend opines in June 2021 that the two upcoming seasons, Season 10 and Season 11, might have been completed in line with producer Mark Montefiore's previous revelation about completing the two forthcoming seasons back-to-back. Other Projects

In 2018, Kowal acted as Emily in the coming of age movie The New Romantic. Followed by that, in 2019, she appeared in the thriller American Hangman, then in the tv-movie Winter Love Story and Secrets in a Small Town.

Personal Life

Kowal is in a relationship with Luke McCaw, an MBA student from Toronto, as per his Instagram. She is open about her personal life to her followers on Instagram.
