Joe began his broadcasting career with the NBC affiliate TV channel KXAS-TV in the early 1990s. In 1994, he left KXAS-TV to join CBS affiliate WRGB and later shifted to WFSB in 1995. By 1997, Joe became the main sports anchor of the WFSB network. Later, he joined ESPN in 2002, and since then, he has been regularly appearing as its sports anchor and announcer.

Joseph William Tessitore was born on 1 January 1971 in Schenectady, New York. He has two siblings, Lea and Dana Tessitore. Not much information is available about his parents, and he grew up in the Schenectady neighborhood under the influence of his grandfathers Joe Miranda and Joe Tessitore. Grandpa Joe Miranda is his mother’s father, and grandpa Joe Tessitore is his father’s father.
Tessitore enrolled in Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, New York, and completed his high school studies. Later, he graduated with a journalism degree from Boston College of Management in 1993.

Joe Tessitore has long been married to Rebecca Miranda. With her, he has two kids, John Tessitore and Nicolina Tessitore. His son John is a Choate Rosemary Hall High School graduate and currently plays football for Boston College.
