Jess Salgueiro is an actress best known for her appearances in The Boys (2019 TV series), The Expanse (2019 TV series), Y: The Last Man (2021 TV series), and many more.

Who is Jess Salgueiro?

Jess Salgueiro is a famous Canadian actress with over five dozen acting credits. She first rose to worldwide fame after appearing as Lindsay's character in the 2011 film The Unleashed. 

Before that, she played minor roles in the short films In the Grid (2009) and Gina (2011).

After several small and insignificant parts in short films and big screens, Salgueiro made her debut as Meredith in the TV series Remedy in 2014. 

Her most famous TV series and movies list include Saving Hope (2015-2017 TV series), Channel Zero (2017 TV series), Mouth Piece (2018 film), American Hangman (2019 film), The Boys (2019 TV series), The Expanse (2019 TV series), Y: The Last Man (2021 TV series), etc.

She comes from a mixed-ethnic family

Jess Salgueiro was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on 19 November 1987. She took birth to her parents, John and Maria Salgueiro, and grew up alongside her two siblings. 

Her siblings include her sisters Nancy and Julie.

Salgueiro belongs to a mixed ethnicity family as her parents have both Portuguese and Canadian roots in them. 

On 25 August 2017, she shared a childhood picture of herself with her father. Alongside the picture, she wrote, "My dad was/is Pablo Escobar. Straight up."

Salgueiro moved to Toronto for education and studied performing arts at Randolph Academy.

Guest Appearance on Series 'The Boys'

The Amazon Prime superhero series, The Boys released on the streaming platform on 26 July 2019. Around a year later, the series premiered its second season on 4 September 2020. Moreover, it has already been renewed for a third installation and is set for June 2022.

Created by the American writer and producer Eric Kripke, the series's plot follows a group of superheroes, The Seven, owned by Vought International, an influential organization.

While the general public recognizes them as heroes, some are corrupt and full of themselves. But then, there comes another group of heroes known as The Boys who work as vigilantes and aim to topple those corrupt superheroes.

Salgueiro appeared in a guest role in season 1 of the series, i.e., 2019. She portrayed Robin Ward, the dead girlfriend of one of the series' lead characters Hugh Campbell aka Hughie, a member of The Boys. 

Robin gets killed on the show's pilot episode and appears on three other episodes throughout the season in the form of hallucinations to Hughie.

The Expanse is an award-winning science fiction TV series developed by American screenwriters Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus. The series premiered its first season on the American cable network Syfy on 14 December 2015. After airing three seasons on the channel, the broadcasting rights were acquired by Amazon Prime Video in December 2019.

To date, there are a total of 6 installations of the series. Since its first release in December 2015, The Expanse has won five different awards and has received at least 27 nominations in various categories. 

The series was recently awarded the 'Television Spotlight Award' by the Academy of Science Fiction in the USA in 2021.

The science fiction series is the TV adaptation of authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck's book of the same name. It follows a plotline occurring hundreds of years into the future, specifically in the 24th century, where humans have colonized the entire solar system.

Salgueiro made it to the show's cast as the recurring character Chandra Wei in season 4 in 2019. Her character on the show is a corporate security officer and appears on a total of 10 episodes  

What is Jess Salgueiro doing now?

As of now, Salgueiro is busy filming for her upcoming projects. She has at least one TV series and a short film set to release in 2022. 

In her forthcoming series Weekend Warriors, she portrays the character Jacky Myles while she will appear as Olivia in the short film Little Bird.

Moreover, Salgueiro recently became part of a stage show played on the occasion of International Women's Day on 8 March 2022.
