Jane Musky was interested in designing the environment from a very young age, and she got attracted to theater as she grew older. She graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood, New Jersey, and then went to Boston University College of Fine Arts to become a senior designer in the theater.
Musky began her career as an art director for an episode titled 'Mystery at Fire Island' of the television series CBS Children's Mystery Theatre in 1981.
