Erin Andrews is a former sports journalist and presenter of ESPN, currently working for FOX Sports News.

Who Is Erin Andrews?

Erin Jill Andrews is an American sportscaster and television personality. She began working as a sports reporter after graduating from the University of Florida in 2000. 

After graduating college, Andrews began her journalism career at FOX Sports Florida as a sports reporter. Then from 2001 to 2002, she worked at the Sunshine Network as a Tampa Bay Lightning reporter.

In 2002, Andrews joined Turner Sports and worked for two years as a studio presenter and reporter. She reported on college football and also for the Turner Sports South’s Atlanta Hawks. Alongside, she was also a studio host for the TBS Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Thrashers.

After ESPN, Andrews joined Fox Sports News in 2012. She started with Major League reporting such as the Super Bowl XLVIII, Super Bowl LI, NFC Championship, other Divisional round games, and the MLB’s All-Star Game, the World Series, among others.

Currently, she provides feature stories and conducts sideline reporting for the FOX NFL’s In the Booth by Buck and Aikman. Further, she presents on TV shows, including America’s Game of the Week and Thursday Night Football, along with other prominent sports co-hosts and experts.

Andrews was nominated at the 2013 ‘Teen Choice Awards for the ‘Choice TV Personality: Female’ for her sports reporting.

Age & Early Bio

Erin Jill Andrews was born on 4 May 1978 in Lewiston, Maine. She was born to her parents, father, Stephen Andrews, and mother, Paula Andrews. She was raised along with her sister Kendra Andrews in Maine.

She went to the University of Florida and studied Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications. While in college from 1997 to 2000, she was one of Gators’ Basketball Dance Team members, The Dazzlers.

Upon departure from Turner Sports in 2004, Andrews joined ESPN. She began as a host for the opening hour of ESPN’s College GameDay on ESPNU, while in 2010, she also started conducting feature reporting for the show.

Alongside, she was also a sideline reporter for collegiate football and basketball events. She also reported on Major League Baseball games on the Monday Night Baseball broadcast from time to time.

FOX News

After contributing to ESPN for eight years, Andrews joined FOX Sports in 2012 as a sports reporter. She reported on the major league games such as the Super Bowl XLVIII, Super Bowl LI, the NFC Championship, and other Divisional round games, followed by the MLB’s All-Star Game and the World Series.

Further, Andrews pitches feature stories and conducts sideline reporting each season for the FOX NFL’s commentating show In the Booth by Buck and Aikman. Besides that, she also presents for the network’s sports shows, including America’s Game of the Week and Thursday Night Football alongside announcer Joe Buck, analyst Troy Aikman, rules expert Mike Pereira, and reporter Kristina Pink.

Husband

Andrews began dating the National Hockey League star Jarret Lee Stoll in 2012. Andrews and her now-husband got engaged in December 2016 and subsequently got married in an intimate ceremony in June 2017.

Andrews and Stoll married at a sunset wedding in Montana. The couple exchanged vows in front of a small group of friends and family, followed by a celebration planned by famous wedding planner Yifat Oren. Andrews looked lovely in a Carolina Herrera gown.

Stoll is a retired professional ice hockey player from Canada. In the National Hockey League, Stoll has played with the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, and Minnesota Wild. He has won the Stanley Cup twice, with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 and 2014.

Children

Andrews and Stoll have had no children despite being married for a long time. They do, however, have a golden retriever dog named Howard who lives with them.

Nevertheless, Andrews is opening up about her experience of being a mother. The reporter disclosed on her blog, The Real Deal with Erin Andrews, in August 2021 that she was starting IVF procedures with her husband Stoll to start a family.

“For those familiar, you know it’s a time-consuming and emotionally draining process,” Andrews wrote. “This is my 7th one, and I’ve been going through these treatments since I was 35 years old.”

Stalking/Peephole Lawsuit and Settlement

In 2009, a nonconsensual nude video of Andrews surfaced on the internet. Upon investigation, it was discovered that she was stalked by a man, David Barrett, who filmed her in her hotel room at Nashville Marriott Hotel. Later, Barrett was sentenced to 30 months in prison for his wrongful acts while Andrews got a $55 million civil lawsuit settlement against the Hotel.

Cervical Cancer

In 2019, Andrews publicly revealed that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, and she went through a life-changing phase of understanding her problem. She also included that awareness among women would decrease the risks of late diagnosis of cancer. And she maintained a healthy life with support from her friends and family to deal with the devastating news.
