Emilie Ikeda is an NBC news correspondent and former news reporter of Fox 5 Atlanta. 

Who is Emilie Ikeda?

Emilie Ikeda is a multimedia journalist, reporter, and news correspondent. Ikeda's journalism career began as a junior reporter in the Fox 29 affiliate channel WTXF-TV in Philadelphia.

She worked there from March 2015 to May 2016 and moved to the Greater Washington DC area to work with WHAG TV as a multimedia journalist (June 2016-November 2017). In April 2017, she was named Employee of the Month for having "the top and greatest articles."

After nearly one and a half years at WHAG TV, Fox News hired her as their multimedia journalist. She joined the Fox News' Atlanta-based office in November 2017. However, she again left there to occupy a similar position in Fox 5 Atlanta in April 2019.

She then got the position of a correspondent in NBC News in July 2021 after serving two years at Fox 5 Atlanta.

Age, Early Bio, & Family

Emilie Ikeda was born in Philadelphia, USA, on 22 July 1994. She has not disclosed her family and her early life in the media. However, on 17 February 2021, she shared her grandfather's photo holding her as a baby on her Instagram. 

She talked about inheriting her grandfather's big smile and his hair in the post. She wrote, "He's where I got my big smile and big hair. Missing Jiichan (grandfather) a little extra today, after stumbling across this forgotten photo."

Furthermore, although she holds American nationality, she receives Asian roots, which she has not disclosed about. 

As for education, Ikeda attended North Penn High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 2009 to 2012. After that, she enrolled in the American University, from where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science and broadcast journalism in 2016. Moreover, she passed out from University with a final GPA of 3.86.

Fox (WAGA-TV)

Ikeda joined Fox 5 (WAGA-TV) based in the Atlanta Metropolitan area in April 2019. While working there as a news reporter and multimedia journalist, she covered several important stories and events.

Her most notable story coverage includes the 2020 Election, Hurricane Dorian, Covid-19 Pandemic, etc. In addition, Ikeda also covered the public protests that broke out due to police brutality and racial discrimination.

She served Fox (WAGA-TV) for over two years before finally leaving in July 2021 to join NBC News. She announced her joining NBC as a correspondent via a Twitter post, captioning, "So many words come to mind in sharing this announcement, but for the sake of simplicity and Twitter's limit on characters, here's one: Grateful."

Fiance

Ikeda is currently engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Pat. She announced getting engaged with him on 17 October 2020 on her Instagram handle. She also posted a picture hugging him and wrote, "I would be honored. 10.17.20."

According to her Instagram post on 19 April 2014, the couple first began dating in April 2012. The post date marked two years of their relationship. As of February 2022, Ikeda and her fiancé, Pat, have completed nearly a decade together.

Pat is an officer in the US Navy. Although his birth year is not available, he celebrates his birthday in January. 

On his most recent birthday, Ikeda wished him a picture on her Instagram. Alongside the picture, she also left a message for him which read, "A very happy "belated" birthday to my better half. Here's to another year of adventure, laughs and love…and to our first* year living within driving distance of each other."
