Doug Hehner is an American television personality famous for his appearance on Lifetime's reality show Married at First Sight and his relationship with Jamie Otis.

Who is Doug Hehner?

Douglas "Doug" Hehner is a reality television star, actor, YouTuber, and podcaster.

He is famous for appearing in the reality television shows Married at First Sight (2014), Married at First Sight: The First Year (2015), and Married at First Sight: Couples' Cam (2020). He is also known for his role in the romantic television movie Dear Christmas (2020).

Presently, Hehner runs a YouTube channel titled Hanging with the Henners and a podcast titled Hot Marriage. Cool Parents with his wife, Jamie Otis Hehner. 

He also has been running a YouTube Kids Channel named Hanging With The Hehner Kids since December 2020.

Birthday

Hehner was born in 1983 in New Jersey, and his birthday falls on 15 October. After graduating from Howell High School in 2000, he received a Bachelor of Applied Science from Pace University in 2005.

Before becoming a reality star, Hehner was involved in different jobs, including head lifeguard, pharmaceutical sales representative, and professional baseball and softball trainer. 

Hehner also worked as an account executive and solutions consultant at a talent cloud company, iCIMS, from February 2014 to July 2017. After that, he held the position as a business development manager at Dodge Data & Analytics until December 2020.

Hehner presently describes himself as a YouTuber and stay-at-home dad at Hanging With The Hehner Kids YouTube Channel.

'Married at First Sight'

Hehner was one of the cast members of the first season of Married at First Sight, which follows single people who agree to marry strangers chosen by relationship experts. Hehner appeared in the first season of Married at First Sight and married co-star Jamie Otis on the show. 

They were one of two couples from their season who decided to stay together on the decision day.

They were later featured in the show's spinoff Married at First Sight: The First Year. They also documented their union on their YouTube series titled Married Life.

Wedding

Hehner exchanged wedding vows with Jamie Nicole Otis on 23 March 2014 as strangers after meeting for the first time on their wedding day on Married at First Sight season 1 and decided to spend the rest of their lives together.

Otis had previously searched for love on season 16 of The Bachelor and season 3 of Bachelor Pad in 2012.

Relationship

Though Hehner and Otis married, at first sight, they didn't love at first sight. 

As per the 2019 People article, Otis broke down and cried shortly after exchanging vows with him on their wedding day. She told the magazine that she thought she had made the worst decision of her life. She added that her relationship with him would not work out as they didn't have chemistry, and she wasn't attracted to him.

However, the couple gradually developed a loving bond and welcomed their two children. 

Otis suffered a miscarriage with their first baby Jonathan 17 weeks into her pregnancy in 2016. Later she gave birth to their first child, daughter Henley Grace, on 22 August 2017, and their second child, Hendrix Douglas, on 13 May 2020.

On 8 October 2020, Otis revealed on Instagram that she and Hehner went over nine months of not having sex during and after her pregnancy with Hendrix. It was because she was worried about losing the baby. 

In another Instagram post dated 22 April 2021, she detailed that her fear of suffering miscarriage significantly impacted their sex life. She said she started wondering about her relationship whether Hehner had begun dating another woman. Therefore, she reached out to a psychic, Trish, to determine if her husband was cheating on her.

On 10 August 2021, Otis revealed that she and Hehner were going through a tough period on a lengthy Instagram post. And they had been attending therapy to make their relationship work.
