Dean Unglert is an American reality television star. He is also known for his relationship with a ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ co-star, Caelynn Miller-Keyes.

Who Is Dean Unglert?

Dean Unglert is a television personality. He is a former contestant of ABC’s The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. 

Besides his television career, he is also a recruiter. Before making his television debut, he had been working as a lead recruiter at StartupTAP since 2015. He also previously worked as an account manager at National CineMedia and Insight Global.

He has been dating Caelynn Miller-Keyes since 2019. The duo is thinking of getting married in Italy.

How Old Is Dean Unglert?

Dean Unglert was born on 17 April 1991 in Aspen, Colorado, in the United States. He turned 30 years old in 2021.

He was born to Debra and Harold Unglert. He has three siblings: two brothers, namely Brad and Ross, and one sister named Skye. 

In conversation with Rachel Lindsay on Season 13, Episode 4 of The Bachelorette, Unglert said he was raised in a “very strict religious family.” As a child, he would ride dirt bikes every weekend and go snowboarding every week. 

He says he grew up in a family-oriented environment, but things fell apart when his mother died from breast cancer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer when Unglert was nine years old. She recovered when he was 11 years old. But, unfortunately, she was re-diagnosed when he was 14 years old and died on 21 October 2006.

Education

Unglert graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and management, general, from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS).

Career

Unglert began his career at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in Aspen, Colorado. He worked there from 2009 to 2013, providing member services. After that, he served as an account manager at an IT service management firm, Insight Global, for a year. While at Insight Global, he engaged with both candidates and clients. He was involved in projects involving applicant recruiting. 

He then served as an account manager at a cinema advertising company, National CineMedia (NCM).

Since 2015, he has been serving as a lead recruiter at a recruiting consultancy StartupTAP (Startup Talent Acquisition Partners). In addition, from 2016 to 2017, he also served as a recruiting partner at Apica Systems.

‘Bachelor in Paradise’ & ‘The Bachelorette’

Unglert was one of the contestants of the ABC reality television dating show The Bachelorette Season 13 in 2017. He competed in The Bachelorette to win the heart of former The Bachelor star Rachel Lindsay. As a Bachelorette contestant, he also appeared in one episode titled ‘After the Final Rose’ of The Bachelor in 2017. 

Later, he joined the fourth and sixth seasons of Bachelor in Paradise in 2017 and 2019, respectively. The contestants from The Bachelorette and The Bachelor from previous seasons get another opportunity to date, other previous contestants, in Bachelor in Paradise. In 2018, he also appeared in Season 1 of The Bachelor Winter Games, one of the spinoffs of The Bachelor, where contestants compete in a “Winter Olympics” to find love.

He compared his experience appearing in the different shows to the US magazine in September 2021. “In Paradise, you’re confined to a space, but that space is pretty big and outdoors. In Winter Games, you were just confined to the house, and you couldn’t even really leave the house and it really sucked.” He admitted. “It goes Winter Games worst, Bachelor in Paradise beach second and then Bachelorette the best because you were moving around quite often, and the food is always really good.”

Are Dean Unglert & Caelynn Miller-Keyes in a Relationship?

Dean Unglert and Caelynn Miller-Keyes first met on Season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2019. Bustle reported in September 2021 that the two started dating in June 2019, immediately after they met at the Playa Escondida resort for the second week of Bachelor in Paradise. They dated for much of the season until Unglert broke things off with Miller-Keyes. He feared he could not make Miller-Keyes happy because of their different lifestyles. As a result, he left the show. Miller-Keyes then explored relationships with other remaining cast members, including Connor Saeli. 

However, Unglert returned to the show after a few weeks. He confessed that he always missed her and also asked if she could continue their relationship off-camera. She agreed, and the pair left the show together in the fifth week of the show.

Are Dean Unglert & Caelynn Miller-Keyes Getting Married?

After dating for a few months, their marriage speculations began. However, Unglert said at the time that he was not planning to get married. But he would later start wearing a band on his ring finger. 

Following their first anniversary of the relationship, Unglert revealed the truth about his ring on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! “I’m committed to Caelynn and only Caelynn. And that’s why I’ve been wearing it for the past six or so months.” Unglert also explained that it’s their way of telling their commitment to each other.

In April 2021, the pair also purchased a home in Las Vegas together. In an episode of Help! I Suck at Dating podcast in September 2021, Unglert admitted that he and Miller-Keyes were thinking of getting married in Italy.
