Dahvie Vanity is an American electronic musician, singer, and songwriter. He founded the electronic music group Blood on the Dance Floor in 2006. The band's original members consisted of Rebecca Fugate and Christopher Mongillo.
Blood on the Dance Floor released their first album, Let's Start a Riot! in 2008. Unfortunately, Rebecca Fugate died before the album's release in a car accident. Following Fugate's death, Mongillo also left the group during the recording of their second album. Vanity then released the second album, It's Hard to Be a Diamond in a Rhinestone World, along with new lead singer Garett Ecstasy. Unfortunately, the duo parted ways shortly after.
Later, Vanity and new member Jayy von Monroe released their album Epic in 2010 and All The Rage!! In 2011. Subsequently, between 2012 and 2013, Blood on the Dance Floor peaked their career. The group's album Evolution debuted at #1 on the US Dance chart and #8 on the US Indie chart when it was released in 2012.
Their other album, Bad Blood, debuted at #2 on the US Dance chart in 2013. The following year, they released another album, Bitchcraft. Following Von Monroe's departure in 2016, the group recorded nine studio albums until disbanding.
In 2017, Vanity released another single with his then-fiancée and Blood on the Dance Floor bandmate Fallon Vendetta, titled 'Otherside of Fear.' The song was promoted in the album Haunted. Vanity announced the release of their twelfth and last album, Hollywood Death Star, in 2019.
After Vendetta's departure, Vanity was left as a single member. Since then, Vanity has been performing under the names Kawaii Monster and the Most Vivid Nightmares.
