The renowned Sports journalist, Sandoval, is a cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2014 and fought with it for around a year before he fully recovered.
Sandoval shared details about his life-threatening illness and his struggles through it via a story on his Facebook handle on 31 October 2015. Below the story, he also uploaded a few images from his treatment.
According to the post, he learned about the disease on the night of Halloween in 2014. He also revealed in the same story that his mother had died of cancer, and his dad is a two times cancer survivor.
Thus, after the diagnosis, Sandoval’s doctors worked hand in hand with the Lymphoma research center at UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) for his treatment.
