Early Life and Education
Chris Santos was born on 26 March 1971 in Fall River, Massachusetts. His mother’s name is Mary Lou. He grew up with one older sister and two older brothers. He got his first job at 13, washing dishes at a small restaurant in Bristol, Rhode Island.
He enrolled in Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. After graduating, he traveled around Europe and United States, which helped him understand different cultural cuisines.
Career
As a chef, he spent time at Boston’s French-inspired Cranebrook Restaurant and tearoom in his early career.
In 2003, Santos became the executive chef at award-winning Latin restaurant Suba and then at Mojo. He was also an executive chef at The Mexican Sandwich Company. Later, Santos served as the executive chef at the famed Time Cafe and as a chef and partner at Wyanoka. Moreover, he also worked as a food stylist and consultant on Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations.
