In 2018, Bassett joined the cast of the Bravo reality television show The Real Housewives of Potomac in its third season with his wife, Candiace Dillard. During The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5 reunion, Bassett revealed that he sold his BBQ restaurant.
In the subsequent interview with Bravo, he disclosed the reason. He said that he sold his restaurant in August 2020 because of a threat put forth on the foodservice industry due to the COVID-19 restriction.
Bassett then launched a catering business called CbasswithDill. He has also created, directed, and implemented food and beverage programs throughout the D.C., Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area. Bassett also runs virtual cooking classes in partnership with HUNGRY. Additionally, he manages his wife Dillard's music career.

Family
Bassett met his future wife, Candiace Dillard, while working at a restaurant in Washington, D.C. They were friends for some years before beginning a romantic relationship. Bassett proposed to Dillard in a surprise engagement in May 2017. They finally married on 11 August 2018 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
Before marrying Dillard, Bassett had fathered three children from his two previous relationships. Dillard had revealed to her mother Dorothy that Bassett was a father of two children from his former relationships. However, she had not disclosed about the third child, as Bassett himself didn't see his eldest son, Mateo, for a decade due to issues with his son's mother. The couple later worked out on getting reunited with his son.
In July 2021, two of Bassett's children, Mateo and Naia, made to The Real Housewives of Potomac on the Season 6 premiere episode titled 'The Nude Interlude.' Bassett told Distractify that he was initially reluctant to have his children on the show. However, he later gave a green signal to make his children comfortable in front of the cameras.
According to Bassett, Naia became nervous and was blank when the camera first showed up, though she was initially excited about the cameras. But, Mateo got accustomed in front of the camera besides being nervous in the beginning.

Candiace Dillard is an actress, singer, entrepreneur, and former Miss United States. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, Dillard grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, with her Air Force physician parents and two siblings.
After graduating from Howard University, she served in the White House Offices of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs. She also served as a staffer for President Barack Obama's 2012 reelection campaign before becoming the 2013 Miss United States.
In 2014, Dillard made her first appearance in the television series Pivot Point. Four years later, she made her film debut in the 2018 award-winning independent film Water in a Broken Glass. In 2018, she also appeared in the short film On the Edge before joining The Real Housewives of Potomac cast in August 2018.
She also guest-starred in the television series Curvy Girls Rock in 2018, Family Reunion in 2021, and Bet Her Presents: The Waiting Room in 2021.
