Jacobus worked as a political columnist for The Hill newspaper for four years and USA Today for a year. In addition, she has written for various media outlets such as The Guardian, New York Daily News, The Daily Beast, etc. 

Besides that, she has also served as an adjunct professor at George Washington University, Graduate School of Political Management, for three years.

Controversy

In 2018, USA Today terminated Jacobus after the political strategist humiliated Republican consultant Michael Caputo's daughter through a tweet. Her tweet suggested that Caputo's daughters could be used at 'parties' by Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.

The 2018 July Tweet stated, "are your daughters ugly like you? Or can Trump use them at the Epstein parties so they can survive when you're broke, bitter, along and in prison for treason?"

Following Jacobus's derogatory tweet, The Hill also ensured that they would no longer publish the political pundit anymore. 

Jacobus, however, explained her disgraceful tweet. "My tweet was in response to his attacks on me," Jacobus stated to TheWrap. In addition to the statement, she added that Caputo tormented her with tweets urging her to end her life.  

Family

On December 17, 2021, she shared her family picture on her Facebook. Jacobus posted a photo of her parents and captioned that her mom is 87 and her father is 90.
