Who is Chad Dukes?
Chad Dukes is a former radio personality born on 7 December 1978 in Alexandria, Virginia. He graduated from Lake Braddock Secondary School and later attended George Mason University.
Dukes got his start in radio at 98.7 WMZQ. He then worked as an intern for The Sports Junkies, an eponymous morning drive time radio show at WHFS (99.1) in Washington, D.C. While working there, Dukes met fellow worker Oscar “The Big O” Santana. Later, they worked together on the night show Big O and Dukes Show. The show’s initial run ended on 12 January 2005, when CBS Radio rebranded WHFS as WLZL “El Zol” and changed the station’s format to Spanish.
In 2005, Dukes moved to WJFK/WHFS (105.7) in Baltimore, Maryland replacing the Out to Lunch Show midday (11:00 AM–3:00 PM) with Big O and Dukes Show. However, the show later replaced Phil Hendrie’s The Phil Hendrie Show on KZON in June 2006, following the retirement of Phil Hendrie from KZON. The Big O and Dukes Show’s stint in Arizona ended on 21 June 2007, when KZON switched to hip hop programming and became 101.5 JAMZ.
Dukes then returned to the Washington, D.C. airwaves after a brief hiatus. The Big O and Dukes Show started on WJFK-FM on 16 July 2007, succeeding the station’s flagship Don and Mike Show in the evening (7:00–11:00 PM).
In 2009, Dukes took over as co-host of the station’s afternoon drive time program alongside former NFL linebacker LaVar Arrington. Dukes later took over the show when LaVar Ball left in 2014, renaming it Chad Dukes vs The World.
WJFK 106.7 announced on 30 October 2020 that Dukes had been fired from the station due to allegedly racist comments on his podcast. However, a year later, Dukes started the Chad Dukes Show in January 2021. The program is available solely on the internet and through podcasting applications.
Besides, Dukes is also the host of the Weird and Pissed Off podcast and the Pinball Shitheads podcast occasionally.
Wife
Dukes got married to his wife on 21 July 2012. However, the name of his wife is not disclosed yet. They exchanged their wedding vows in a tiny house in Fairfax that had an alligator head on the front porch. After the ceremony, Dukes and his wife drove to Blue Ridge Seafood Restaurant and had lunch with his brother and his brother-in-law.
On the special occasion of their sixth marriage anniversary in July 2018, Chad shared a picture of their hands wearing rings. “6 years ago today I married my lovely bride. It’s still the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. Getting hitched, that is,” he captioned the post.
