What is Buddy Boeheim's Real Name?
Born on 11 November 1999, Jackson Thomas "Buddy" Boeheim is a college basketball player. He went to Jamesville-DeWitt High School in DeWitt, New York. As a junior, he led his basketball team to a Class A Section III title with an average of 26.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, and was voted All-Central New York Large School Player of the Year.
Boeheim then moved to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, for his senior year, where he served as team captain. He also turned down scholarships from Gonzaga and UMass to play college basketball at Syracuse, where his father was the head coach.
Boeheim averaged 6.8 points every game off the bench in his freshman season at Syracuse. He climbed into the starting lineup as a sophomore and averaged 15.3 points per game. Boeheim set a career-best with 31 points in a 72–69 loss to Virginia in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals on 11 March 2021.
Boeheim scored 30 points in his next game, a 78–62 first-round triumph over sixth-seeded San Diego State in the NCAA Tournament. As a junior, Boeheim had an average of 17.8 points and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 38.3 percent from outside the arc. Subsequently, as a senior, he was chosen for the First Team All-ACC.

He finished his four years at Syracuse with 1,765 points, and 309 made 3-pointers. Boeheim, a three-star recruit who arrived at Syracuse as a freshman, left with the second-most 3-pointers in school history and planned to pursue a professional basketball career.
He also talked about him leaving Syracuse and said, "Playing at Syracuse these last four years, wearing this jersey, representing this school, my family, myself, it's meant everything to me."
He continued, "Forget how many points I scored. Forget all that, the numbers. Being able to play here and just put a smile on someone's face, being able to interact with fans — every day has been a dream come true."
He has a Brother and Two Sisters
Boeheim is one of four siblings, including older brother Jimmy, his twin sister, Jamie, and another sister Elizabeth Boheim. Jimmy played with Boeheim at Syracuse, while his twin sister, Jamie, plays at Rochester.
Jimmy and Boeheim's NCAA playing careers ended in March 2022 when they lost 88–79 to Duke in the ACC Tournament. Boeheim did not play his last game after receiving a one-game suspension for allegedly punching Florida State's Wyatt Wilkes.
In Boeheim's absence, Jimmy took up the challenge against Duke. He put in a complete 40 minutes, scoring 28 points and making six three-pointers, both season highs.
Jimmy was in tears after the loss, knowing his college career was over. However, he revealed in the post-game press conference that he was playing for his brother that day.
Boeheim and Jimmy's father, Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, also a Hall of Fame basketball coach, confirmed his son's statement, stating, "Jimmy wanted to get his little brother another game."
