Elliott is well known for Clara's Ghost, Fort Tilden, and Battle of the Sexes. Clara's Ghost was also her feature-length directorial debut, which starred her entire family and was premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Bridey is the daughter of another Saturday Night Live (SNL) alum, comedian, actor, and writer Chris Elliott and Late Night with David Letterman's talent coordinator Paula Niedert Elliott.
Her grandfather, Bob Elliott, was yet another famous face in the American comedy scene. He was a veteran radio comedian, actor, and member of the famed comedy duo Bob & Ray. Bob appeared on SNL's 1978-79 Christmas episode alongside his comedy duo partner, Ray Goulding. Chris was a cast member of SNL in 1994-45, and Abby joined the crew from 2008 to 2012.
Grandfather's Death
Bridey lost her grandfather Bob Elliott on 2 February 2016. He was suffering from throat cancer and died in his home, Cundy's Harbor, Maine, at 92. Bob was the other half of the famous comedy duo, Bob & Ray.
Education
Bridey studied playwriting and acting at the National Theater Institute, Connecticut, in 2011. She also studied filmmaking at Brooklyn College, New York, while performing sketch and stand-up at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) Theatre and working at Kim's Video and Music, a popular store in Manhattan known as a starting ground for filmmakers of the future.
Career
Bridey moved to LA from New York for a while to work as a production assistant. However, she gave up the job after realizing that she was a horrible driver and had put several people in danger. Thus, she returned to New York and continued with stand-ups and sketches. Apart from that, she's also worked at the Paley Center and the Film Forum.

'Fort Tilden'
Bridey Elliott starred as Harper in the 2014 independent comedy film Fort Tilden. Written and directed by Charles Rogers and Violet Bliss, the film premiered in 2014 at the South by Southwest (SXSW) film festival. The film is about Allie and Harper's confusing and challenging journey to the beach after getting invited by two good-looking guys. The film also won the 2014 SXSW Grand Jury Award.
'Affections'
Bridey Elliott made her directorial debut in 2016 with a short comedy film, Affections. She also wrote and appeared in the movie alongside Bud Cort and Rob Michael Hugel. The film explores the life of a young woman looking for intimacy in the most unlikely places. The short film depicts isolation and loneliness satirically. The film also premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
'Clara's Ghost'
Clara's Ghost is Bridey's full-length directorial debut. It is a 2018 horror/comedy/drama starring Bridey and her father Chris, mother Paula, and sister Abby. Elliott wrote and directed the film, keeping her real-life show-biz-famous family in mind.
Clara's Ghost explores the life of Clara Reynolds and her self-absorbed showbiz family. Elliott got the inspiration for the film from her own family and ended up casting them as well. Her mother Paula played the lead Clara, whereas her father Chris played the role of Ted, Clara's husband. In addition, Elliott's sister portrayed the character of Julie, and Bridey herself played Riley in the film.
The movie was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018 and was released in theaters on 6 December 2018.
