Brian Geraghty was born on 13 May 1975 in Toms River, New Jersey. He is an American actor better known for his appearance in the Academy Award-winning film The Hurt Locker (2008). He has several filmography credentials, including the 2012 movie Flight, the critically acclaimed HBO drama series Boardwalk Empire (2013), NBC's Chicago P.D (2014-2016), and much more.

Besides, he has also appeared in several national advertisements.

According to IMDb, Geraghty was first seen in the TV series Law & Order in 1999, where he played the cameo role of Philip Ludwick. Thereafter, he made cameo appearances in a few more TV series, namely, The Sopranos in 1999, Ed in 2001, True Blood in 2012, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2010 and 2015, and Chicago Med in 2015 and 2016.

Sean, Geraghty's character, was shot two episodes well before the season 3 finale, leaving him seriously incapacitated. By the end of season 3, Sean had chosen to retire from the police department and relocate from Chicago to San Diego. After that, he was written off from the show.

However, he returned in February 2020 for Season 7 Episode 17 of the Chicago P.D./Chicago Fire merger. 

Chicago P.D covers the Chicago Police Department's District 21 unit, which is composed of two disparate groups - Uniformed Police and the Intelligence Unit.
