Blaire Erskine is a comedian well known for her humorous Twitter videos spoofing many right-wing political figures and fictional Donald Trump supporters.

Who is Blaire Erskine?

Blaire Erskine is an American writer and comedian born on 25 August 1991 and raised in Ellaville, Georgia. Her humorous Twitter videos mimicking different right-wing political personalities and fictitious Trump supporters have made her famous. 

Erskine moved to Atlanta in 2011 and attended Georgia State University, where she began taking improv classes. She then spent two years studying acting before moving on to comedy writing. 

In 2017, she enrolled in an all-women stand-up comedy class at The Punchline and began performing at open mics around Atlanta.

Besides, Erskine has signed with ICM Partners, representing talent in motion pictures, books, television, music, etc. In addition, she has also signed with Sweet 180 Management.

Her videos have been published in renowned publications, including The Daily Beast, The Washington Post, and the New York Daily News. Erskine was also named one of the New York Times' 30 'Great Performers of 2020.'

She is Famous For Her Humorous Twitter Videos

Erskine is widely known for sharing Twitter satirical posts about current events and political figures. She has over 440k followers on her Twitter account (as of February 2022) and usually shares humorous tweets and videos.

In an interview with Atlanta Magazine in 2020, Erskine mentioned that she couldn't perform on stage after the pandemic, which led her to make videos for her friends. 

Erskine also explained she was scrolling through Twitter when she came across a trending news story of a Costco consumer who went on a rant after being asked to wear a mask, which gave her video inspiration for her viral video.

"I read that he was married, and I was like, No. Really? I had the idea to make a video based on what I thought his wife would be like. I posted the video online, and it completely blew up. Some people thought I was being serious, that I was really this guy's wife," She said.

Since then, she's played other skits, such as Brian Kemp's daughter, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham's niece, Congressman Tom Cotton's wife, and many more.

Additionally, Erskine currently works as a writer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Before that, she worked as a staff writer on the first season of Fox Entertainment's Let's Be Real.

In her first viral video, she portrayed the wife of Dan Maples, a Florida man who got media attention for refusing to wear a mask in Costco. The video was uploaded on Twitter in July 2020. Another popular video showed her doing a false television interview as a Trump fan left in the cold after a rally in Omaha, Nebraska, mimicking an actual occurrence in October 2020. Moreover, celebrities including Michael Moore, MC Hammer, and reporter Katie Couric assumed the video was authentic.

Jerry Falwell's daughter, Marjorie Taylor Green's daughter, Tom Cotton's wife, Corey Lewandowski's wife, Amy Coney Barrett's daughter, and Tiffany Trump's best friend are among the characters she has played in her films. According to A.O. Scott of the New York Times, the clips are "small masterpieces, beautifully capturing the attitudes and strategies we use when we're alone with our phones." 

Married Her Husband in 2020

Erskine married her husband Dan Maples in October 2020 after proposing to her in January of that year. Erskine wore a strapless white wedding gown with a long train and veil. On the other hand, Maples wore a dark green coat paired with a white shirt and black tie and pants.

She also shared a picture with her husband 40 days before their marriage on Twitter on 8 September 2020.

On 23 October 2020, Erskine shared a portrait with her bridesmaids. In the post, she also explained an incident that happened at her wedding, writing, "I had a small amount of my dad's ashes in a little anchor charm attached to my bouquet during the wedding, but he jumped ship (literally) sometime after making it down the aisle."

Erskine recently shared a post, two years after her husband proposed to her, on Instagram on 27 January 2022. "Two years ago today this guy asked me to marry him and I said yes and then shit got crazy! but we did the thing and we're still doing the thing and I'm very happy about the thing," she wrote.
