Who is Bill Melugin?

Bill Melugin is an award-winning investigative reporter and news correspondent. He is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Golden Mike Award in the category of Best Investigative Journalism from the Radio & TV News Association of South California. In addition, he has also recently won two Emmy for investigative reporting.

Melugin is a 2012 graduate of Arizona State University (ASU), majoring in Broadcast Journalism and taking the Spanish language as a minor subject. He began his journalism career right from his first year at the university, i.e., in 2008.

His first job was as an on-air talent at the radio station named The Blaze 1330 AM Radio. After that, in January 2010, he joined the State Press Television in Tempe, Arizona, and worked as a reporter for around four months. 

Similarly, Melugin did several other small reporting works and internships before finally landing his first prominent job as a reporter and fill-in anchor of KFOX 14 in El Paso, Texas. He joined the channel in January 2013 and worked there for over two years generating stories and covering live shots for news.

After that, in January 2015, he landed a news anchoring role at WJZY-TV in the North Carolina Area. He held the position for another two and a half years before leaving to join KTTV-TV FOX 11 in June 2017.

At KTTV, Melugin performed duties as an investigative reporter. Moreover, while working there, he won two Golden Mike Awards and two Emmy Awards for Investigative Reporting.

After four years at KTTV, Melugin left the channel and joined Fox News Channel (FNC) in May 2021. Thus, he is currently working outside the Los Angeles Area as FNC’s National Correspondent.

Age, Parents, and Siblings

Melugin has not shared any details of his early life in the media. He has also not given out his birthdate yet. Thus, his age as of 2022 is not available on any high authority websites.

The Fox 11 reporter currently has only his mother as his parent as he lost his dad six years ago on 12 May 2016. He frequently posts pictures of his mother on his official Instagram handle, @bmelugin33. Lately, on 9 May 2021, i.e., on the Mother’s Day occasion, he wished his mother with a heartfelt message alongside a mother-son photo. The post suggests he is very much close to his mother, whom he considers his biggest fan and a best friend. He wrote, 

“Happy #mothersday to the best mom a son could ever ask for! My best friend, my biggest fan, and a bright light in my life! I love the buzz I feel in my pocket after every single live shot, knowing it’s her either texting good job, fixing your tie, or you have powder on your face 😂 Love you mom.”

Regarding siblings, Melugin has a brother whose name he has not given out. However, on 12 June 2019, he has shared several family photos featuring his brother and mother. The pictures are from their family vacation in Costa Rica, where they are seen ziplining together. 

Is Bill Melugin Married?

As of June 2022, there is no authentic information on any verified sources regarding Melugin’s relationship status, girlfriend, or wife. He does not share much about his personal life in public. In addition, his social media handles also do not have any posts that can link us to the romantic side of his life.

However, he was romantically linked to a famous travel blogger and Instagram model Katy Johnson in the past. As per her Instagram bio, Katy has already traveled to over 86 countries worldwide.

Melugin and Katy first began dating in November 2018. The pair celebrated their first anniversary on 12 November 2019. On that day, Katy shared a series of romantic couple photos on her Instagram alongside a long status describing their relationship. However, after over a year in a romantic relationship, the couple parted ways sometime in 2020.
