Bart Durham founded the law firm Bart Durham Injury Law.  He previously worked for the Tennessee Attorney General and U.S. District Attorney.  He was the first Nashville Attorney to embrace TV advertisements for lawyers (after it became in 1977).

Durham is alive and active in his profession. He has been practicing law since 1996.

He had triple bypass surgery in September 2007. He has been hospitalized four times and has had stents put on three times. His kidney went into failure after two days of his bypass surgery. The doctors told his sons that he might not live but despite all odds, he is still alive and working. 

Short Bio

Durham is a Tennessee personal injury attorney with 35+ years of experience. He was a veteran of the US Army when he joined the then United States Attorney General Thomas L. Robinson as an assistant United States Attorney (1966-1969). He has prosecuted the Ku Klux Klan leadership from Jackson who had robbed a Memphis bank for the Klan. After Lyndon Johnson’s term had ended and Richard Nixon was appointed, he lost his job.  and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. 

He then moved on to work as an assistant attorney general in Nashville (1969-1975).  He was a prosecuting attorney in the state attorney general’s office. He argued two cases before the US Supreme Court and had over a hundred cases before the US Court Of Appeals. He was also in charge of Federal Civil Rights cases throughout the state and regularly appeared in every US District court from Memphis to east Tennessee. 

Durham began his private practice in 1975 after serving six years in the Attorney General’s office. He teamed up with Henry Haile whom he had worked within the Attorney General’s office. 

Durham would later open up his own office and has experienced lawyers working underneath him. His practices areas include personal injury law (Animal & Dog Bites, Brain Injury, Car Accidents, Construction Accidents, Motorcycle Accidents, Premises Liability, Truck Accidents), Product Liability (Drugs and Medical defects, Toxic Torts) Automobile accidents, Serious Injury, Wrongful Death and Workers compensation.  

He now successfully runs a law firm namely Bart Durham Injury Law. Durham and his firm is well known for their advertisements. His firm has widely used  TV commercials and billboards to advertise its services. 

How Old is Bart Durham?

As of January 2022, Durham's age is 86. He was born in Ripley, Tennessee on 5 March 1935. He grew up in a farming community that had three thousand people in the county seat of Lauderdale County which is located fifty miles north of Memphis.  His father was also a lawyer, a first world war veteran, and the mayor of Ripley. 

Bart served in the army for two years and then graduated law school in May 1963. 

 Charity 

In January 2011, Bart Durham Injury Law Firm agreed to match audience donation "dollar-for-dollar" up to  $15,000 for Nashville Neighbours Fund, which raised money for Nashville bombing victims.

The firm has taken part in various charity events and organizations to help the less privileged. In 2019, they hosted Haunted Open House in Nashville, where food was collected for community meals. It has also offered free lunch for the residents of North Nashville.

Although there is no authentic source about his net worth, he has made multi-million settlements in his long career. 

Wife and Children

Durham married his partner Cindy in December 2012. Cindy has an Asian descent and received her American citizenship after struggling to get it for six years.

He has two sons, Blair Durham (50 years as of 2021) who is also an attorney and practices law alongside his father. He also manages his father’s firm. Blair is also a former Marine. His other son, Colin Durham is a Samford University graduate and is Married to Michele( who is also an attorney). 

He also has two grandchildren - Ethan and Addy.
