Allen began her career as an actress when she was three years old. She grew up acting in TV series such as Blue’s Clues from 1996 to 2004 and then TV series Out of the Box and the film The Best Man in 1999. In addition to that, Allen played the role of Alicia’ Brace Face’ in the 2003 movie School of Rock. Further in 2005, she acted in the popular movie Are We There Yet?, and its sequel Are We Done Yet?

In 1996, when Allen was only 6-year-old, she began voicing the character of a side table drawer, who is Steve’s friend in the children’s tv-show Blue’s Clues. She played the character after reaching her teenage years in 2004.
In between Blue’s Clues, she appeared in credits such as the tv-series Out of the Box (1999) and the movie The Best Man (1999, the role of a flower girl).
Later, in 2005, Allen played the character of Lindsey Kingston in the film Are We There Yet? Following the success of the movie, a sequel was introduced. So, she revived her character as Lindsey Persons in Are We Done Yet?

Because my passion for this developed so young, my parents knew it was important to instill personal value within me—so that I didn’t lose myself before I even had the chance to develop who I was.”
‘School of Rock’
In addition to that, Allen was also a part of the popular 2003 musical comedy movie School of Rock. She played Alicia, who sang in the lead as well as back up.
The movie was about a failed guitarist (Jack Black as Dewey Finn) who disguises himself as a substitute teacher in a school and inspires the students to form a band. Jack Black played the lead role alongside other actors such as Joan Cusack and Miranda Cosgrove. The child actors included James Hosey, Brian Falduto, Becca Brown, Zachary Infante, Caitlin Hale, and Allen.
