Actor, producer, writer, entrepreneur, and author Nicole Polizzi's full name is Nicole Elizabeth Polizzi, born on 23 November 1987 in Santiago, Chile. 

Polizzi fulfilled her role as a producer and a writer on Snooki & JWoww, which premiered from 2012 to 2014. She also produced the 2016 series Nicole & Jionni's Shore Flip and Warrior and was the cast member of films like The Three StoogesMovie 43, and the reality TV show Jersey Shore from 2009 to 2012, among others. She is also the owner of The Snooki Shop, a women's clothing and accessory line, and SnookiLove, her other eponymous clothing line.

She also has an autobiography titled 'A Shore Thing' released in 2011 and has authored best-selling books like 'Confessions of a Guidette' and 'Gorilla Beach'.

Early life and Education

Polizzi was born in Santiago, Chile, but was adopted by a pair of Italian-Americans when she was six months old. Andy Polizzi, her father, is a volunteer firefighter and auto salvage manager, while her mother works as an office manager. Polizzi now lives in Marlboro, New York, where she earned her veterinary technician certification.

"Test me and bring me to a hospital. I can induce an animal, do surgery, do anesthesia, and take blood. So if you want to tell me I'm stupid again, let's go to an animal hospital.", she told GQ in 2011 as an explanation for her degree.

Polizzi has established herself as a TV personality, producer, and writer in the American entertainment industry and is also involved in apparel business ventures. She has also authored a few best-selling books.

‘Jersey Shore’

Jersey Shore was a reality television show that combined comedy, drama, and romance. It premiered in 2009 and continued for four years, with six seasons, until 2012. The series follows the lives of eight housemates at a vacation home: in Seaside Heights, New Jersey in seasons one, three, five, and six, South Beach, Florida in season two, and Florence, Italy in season four, respectively.

Despite this mainstream, the reality TV show outshined with 4.8 million viewers at the end of its first season, which is nearly triple the number of viewers in the debut season. Furthermore, the show's fourth season premiered to a phenomenal 8.8 million total viewers, inspiring international spin-offs such as Geordie Shore in the United Kingdom, Gandia Shore in Spain, and Warsaw Shore in Poland.

Polizzi (Snooki), Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, and Pauly D were audience favorites in the show, earning $2 million per season and $150,000 per episode, with the rest earning between $80,000 and $100,000 per episode.

Polizzi aka Snooki on 'Jersey Shore'

Snooki was dead drunk in the very first episode of Jersey Shore. She puked and even passed out during her opening appearance, and that peculiarly placed her in the spotlight. Her fascination with tanning and going to the gym spawned several parodies on YouTube, ascending her public image. 

In 2010, Robert J. Thompson, a professor of television and popular culture at Syracuse University, spoke to The New York Times about the characters of Jersey Shore, notably Snooki.

"Jersey Shore is brilliantly cast and, of course, Snooki is the star. The name doesn’t hurt for a start.” Prof. Thompson additionally dictated Snooki's loudness and stated, "She’s short, drawing our attention like a berserk windup toy. Her dialect is ratcheted up 1,000 volts.”

Mike (The Situation), one of the cast members of Jersey Shore, described Snooki as a spray-painted Chihuahua at their first meeting. Moreover, Chris Linn, MTV's executive vice president for pilots, also shared her thoughts on Snooki with The New York Times in 2010.

Business Ventures

Polizzi is also involved in the business world. She is the owner of The Snooki Shop in Madison, New Jersey, which sells women's apparel and accessories. She also operates Nicole's Craft Room, an Etsy shop where she offers Jersey Shore-themed goods. 

In October 2020, Polizzi and Cortese, pals from the Jersey Shore, launched The Meatball Shop, an online store selling Meatball merchandise. Polizzi and Cortese weren't aware that The Meatball Shop was already a well-known brand when they created their own. As a result, the two had to go through a legal struggle with The Meatball Shop. The shop said the reality stars disregarded a cease and desist order alleging trademark infringement. 

Nicole has grown into a full-fledged brand, with footwear/slippers, perfume, sunglasses, cosmetics, jewelry, headphones, phone/tablet accessories, handbags, applications, hair treatments, and tanning products among her offerings.

Polizzi was featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2010) as Bella Swan and had also brought her character Snookie on several films and TV series like WWE Monday Night RAW (2011), The Three Stooges (2012), Movie 43 (2013), Wombmates (2014), and Cribmates (2014). She was also a cast member of the TV series, Supernatural (2014) and This Day in Useless Celebrity History (2020).

Furthermore, she produced about 16 episodes of the TV series Snooki & JWoww (2012-2014) and conceptualized 13 of its episodes in 2012 while writing one of the episodes in 2013. She also owns the credit as executive producer for the TV series Nicole & Jionni's Shore Flip (2016) and a video Warrior (2016).

Polizzi has also made several appearances on major talk shows, including The Tonight Show with Jay LenoJimmy Kimmel LiveLate Night with Jimmy FallonThe Wendy Williams ShowThe ViewGood Morning AmericaConan, Ellen, and Late Show with David Letterman. Polizzi had also starred on an episode of MTV's Is She Really Going Out With Him? in 2009 before joining the cast of Jersey Shore.

‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’

Jersey Shore Family Vacation is a four-season revival of Jersey Shore that aired from 2018 to 2021 and featured past members of the Jersey Shore, reuniting to live together and have a fun vacation in Miami and other locations.

After participating for a year in the reprise, Nicole Polizzi split ways from Jersey Shore Family Vacation in December 2019. As reported by App in 2021, she had left the show because of the substantial drama it contained, while she also reasoned her parting in relation to her family circumstances to US Magazine in 2020. Polizzi talked about her decision, and the implications filming had on her family a month after announcing her departure from the show to Us Magazine in 2020. 

However, she returned to the show in the second half of Season 4. 

Publishing

Polizzi has authored a few books, namely, 'Confessions of a Guidette' (2011), her autobiographical creation, 'A Shore Thing' (2011), and 'Gorilla Beach' (2012), which are listed as the Best Sellers in New York Times. Subsequently, her other books, 'Baby Bumps: From Party Girl to Proud Mama', and 'All the Messy Milestones in Between', were released in December 2013 that recounts her journey from initial pregnancy to postpartum life and the difficulties in between. On 13 October 2015, she released another book, 'Strong is the New Sexy: My Kickass Story on Getting My Formula for Fierce', which gives an insight into girl power.

Upcoming projects

Polizzi will appear as a host in a few TV shows Celebrity ShoreJust Tattoo of Us, and Messyness. The dates for the shows are yet to be out as of July 2021.

Personal Life

Polizzi met Jionni LaValle, her husband, on the set of Jersey Shore Season 3 in 2010. The pair got married on 29 November 2014 in East Hanover, New Jersey. Polizzi stated in an interview with NJ.com before her wedding that she plans to marry only once.

The couple has three children, Lorenzo, Giovanna, and the youngest Angelo, who was born on 30 May 2019.
