Music Career

Taylor began her music career at 15 when she signed a record contract with Manta Productions. She eventually released a song titled 'Strong' on MySpace in 2007, and it quickly raised on MySpace music charts. Her song was so popular on the internet that Taylor became the top unsigned artist on MySpace. She later hosted a MySpace online music talk show and interviewed many popular singers and musicians, including Carrie Underwood, Tyan Tedder, and the electronic duo LMFAO.

The popularity of the song earned her a recording contract with Interscope Records in December 2008. Meanwhile, she sung a soundtrack titled 'Accessory' for the 2009 romantic comedy film Confessions of a Shopaholic.

During her time at Interscope Records, Taylor wrote and recorded songs with Rodney Jerkins (known by Darkchild), Fernando Garibay, and Nadir Khayat (known by RedOne). Through Interscope Records, she released her single 'Female Intuition,' but it failed to chart. She subsequently was released from her contract in 2010.

Taylor took a few months of break from recording and writing in early 2010. She began writing and recording with Jeff Victuelles and Matt Wong by the end of the year. Initially, she intended to release her album independently, but she was approached by Japan's R&B music label, Star Base Records. In 2011, her song about a Japanese wig titled 'Got My Prisila On,' topped in the Foreign Music category in Japan on iTunes. The song featured DJ Lie. She also sang songs, including 'Zushi Fes' for a summer music festival for MTV Japan.

In March 2012, she released her debut self-titled album Jordyn Taylor along with Jeff Victuelles and Matt Wong. The album featured songs, including 'Never Again,' 'Say,' 'Like You Never Left,' 'Stuck,' 'Lesson Learned,' 'Down 4 U,' 'Suffocate,' 'Recognize,' and 'Be the Same.' The album was a hit. It reached a top-10 position on Japan's R&B iTunes chart, and it also received critical acclaim. She promoted the album with various shows in Japan.

Taylor left Star Base Records in July 2012 and signed a record contract with Space Shower Music. With a new label, Taylor also changed her genre from R&B to Pop. She reunited with Matt Wong for two months to create the album Shine, released in March 2013. This album was also well received. It featured 12 songs, including tracks 'Set Me Free,' 'All I Need,' 'Another Dance,' 'Shine,' and 'It's VABENE.'
