Daniel Preda is an American social media personality and model. He is also known for his relationship with internet sensation Joey Graceffa from 2014 to 2020.

Who Is Daniel Preda?

Daniel Cristopher Preda is a professional model and social media personality who has done modeling through brands such as Maggie and Elite. Preda. 

He goes by ‘MisterPreda’ in the social media world also has a large following on Instagram and Twitter, where he shares his fashion, lifestyle, and travel journey. He also lists himself as an actor and a producer on his Twitter handle. He has appeared in the television series Escape the Night and the short movie It Gets Worse. In total, he has over 859K followers on Instagram, over 234K followers on Twitter, and over 293K subscribers on YouTube as of 13 June 2021. 

When Preda was still dating Graceffa, he frequently appeared on The Amazing Race alum Graceffa’s Youtube channels and other video projects. The two began dating in 2014.

The Start & The End

While the two initially presented themselves as friends on YouTube, fans in the comment section started assuming that they were romantically linked.

Certainly, the audience was right, and the two came out as lovers in a 2016 vlog titled ‘Our Love Story.’ Preda also featured alongside Graceffa in his coming out music video titled ‘Don’t Wait.’

Unfortunately, the couple parted ways after being in a relationship for six years in July 2020.

In his 2017 interview with Hey Qween host Jonny McGovern, Preda discussed his early struggles to adapt to his sexuality and how he fought hard to overcome them.

“I came out at the end of high school and it just wasn’t accepted,” Preda stated. “Since I was a kid my dad knew I was different and it was just really hard for me growing up.” 

His family did not accept Preda’s sexual orientation. “I actually got kicked out of my house and cut off by my dad. I came out, and I basically didn’t have a family after that.”

It was fortunate that he had somewhere to go during his tough days. The social media influencer had been accepted with a partial scholarship to North Eastern University in Boston.

Moving To Boston At 18

He eventually moved to Boston when he was 18. He had around $500 in his pocket, and he worked three jobs to put himself to school. In the city, he initially took pre-med because his parents wanted him to, but he wasn’t happy. He then switched to communications and found his true love of radio.

Shortly after, he interned at the Wendy Williams Show and then E! Entertainment in Los Angeles. 

To pay the bills while interning at E! in Los Angeles, he took a job at a surf shop and on-campus at UCLA. And it was around this period that he became acquainted with the LGBT lifestyle in West Hollywood.

“It was crazy, I was new to LA and new to the whole gay world because I grew up very Christian,” Preda revealed. “It was really intimidating and I think I speak for a lot of people that come to Hollywood... you can lose your mind in this city.”

According to him, his favorite part of being in the gay community has been the experience of making amazing friends and finding his family. “Regardless, there are going to be people out there that accept you and love you for you.” 

On the occasion of Pride Month 2021, he announced his collaboration with Shopdecea for exclusive handmade pieces of jewelry. He also explained that a percentage of proceeds would directly benefit six LGBTQ+, POC, AAPI & homeless youth organizations to support Pride Month.

What is Daniel Preda's Age?

Preda was born on 17 December 1992 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Although his ex-partner, Graceffa, was also from Boston, they didn’t meet there. On May 2021, he had a status on parenting that related to his own experience. He commented on a video in which a man portrays aggressiveness towards kids playing video games, "Not one to judge parenting, but as a kid, my dad would do this shit all the time. This is ABUSE & stayed with me for a long time. It caused me to always have my guard up around agressive/straight men. Please don’t resort to this behavior. Having a mature convo goes 100x further."

Social Meda to Modeling 

In June 2009, Preda began using Twitter. A year later, he joined Instagram later and began posting images of his fashion modeling and trips. Soon after, both of his social media profiles became popular and gained him thousands of followers.

However, he gained widespread popularity as Graceffa’s boyfriend. The two connected through their Instagram account. Preda then appeared in many of Graceffa’s YouTube videos shortly after they began dating.

He also started his own YouTube channel in April 2016 titled Mister Preda. The channel has videos related to his experiences and expression related to his life and areas of interests such as home decor, interior design, skincare, lifestyle, and many more things. 

Personal Life

Preda and Graceffa began dating in 2014. Graceffa disclosed he was dating Preda shortly after coming out as gay in his debut book, ‘In Real Life: My Journey to a Pixelated World,’ published in 2015.

Soon after, the couple confirmed that they were partners in a 2016 YouTube video titled, ‘Our Love Story.’

How did Daniel Prada and Joey Graceffa meet?

The two got connected online after Graceffa discovered a photo of Preda on Explore page of his Instagram. After they followed each other on social media, the two began speaking through direct messages.

In a 2016 interview with People, Graceffa claimed it was “like 5 seconds” after Preda followed him back, but Preda said that it was more like a few days.

Things between the two soon became serious once they started talking about their families and found they shared a common past — an alcoholic parent.

The Breakup

And after a six-year-long relationship, while some fans hoped the two would eventually get married, the couple disclosed that they had split up in a July 2020 video titled ‘we broke up.’

The two stated in the emotional video that they had concluded their romance three months prior and that there was no drama involved in their breakup. 

However, owing to the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns, they continued to live together after their romance ended. The quarantine also forced them to accept the fact that they had to split ways. Preda eventually moved out of the home on the same day the video was filmed.

“We both know that this is what needs to be done, and that this is what we both need to do to be happy because I don’t think either of us has been happy for a while,” Graceffa said in the video.

Graceffa and Prada remained good friends even after their breakup.
