Smith was wrangling for the movie Hell or High Water when he was cast in Yellowstone. Smith played Lloyd in 27 episodes of Yellowstone from 2018 to 2020. The drama series follows a rancher family in Montana as they fight to keep their land from being taken over by rivals.
The series has successfully completed its four seasons, with the last season airing in November 2021. Smith reprised his role as Lloyd in all the seasons and there is also a guest appearance by famous horse trainer Buster Welch in the fourth season.
In February 2022, The hit Western series has been extended for a fifth season, with the next season divided into two parts. Yellowstone’s fifth season will be extended by four episodes, bringing the total number of episodes to fourteen. The new season will be split into two parts, each comprising of seven episodes.
‘Tombstone’
Smith starred as outlaw “Pony Deal” in the 1993 film Tombstone, which was a box office hit. While it isn’t a major role in the classic western film, Smith played an outlaw who lived in New Mexico until he died in 1988. Pony Deal is also a member of a group accused by Wyatt Earp of attempting to murder his brother at Tombstone.
Refuses Covid-19 Vaccination
Because of guidelines mandating all guests to be vaccinated against COVID-19, Smith will not be attending the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The cast of Yellowstone is nominated in the top category of an ensemble in a television drama. After four seasons on-screen, the show received its first major award nomination.
Smith said on Instagram that he is opposed to vaccines and would not be attending the SAG Awards in late February.
“I want to apologize to y’all for not being at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. I mean no offense to anyone. I’m not vaccinated, and it’s a requirement to be vaccinated,” Smith revealed to his Instagram followers. “I’m not vaccinated, I will not get vaccinated,” Smith added. “I haven’t been vaccinated since I was a little kid. I don’t vaccinate my dogs, I don’t vaccinate my horses. I’ve never had a flu shot. I never will. I believe they compromise your immunities… It’s just my beliefs. I just don’t believe in that stuff. Whatever.”
